The primary aim of the Graduate School of Law is to broaden and advance our student’s education and abilities to a new level, one that will allow them to engage confidently and effectively in technical and advanced law practice.

To cultivate the exceptional ability needed to be a successful, respected and trusted legal professional, students take part in our unique legal training courses and interactive research training program, both of which continue to embody the spirit of Asahi University’s foundation principles, including an awareness and commitment to not only the individual, but also to the wider community.

Master’s Program

The primary purpose in the Master’s Program is to guide and inspire our students to reach a higher peak of learning, one that will allow them to engage confidently and successfully in the demanding fields of technical and advanced law practice. To fulfill this mission, the department is dedicated to offering an array of sophisticated education programs.

Education That Focuses on Practical Jurisprudence
In this program, all the subjects focus on practical law, deepening our students understanding of primary law and traditional research.
Therefore, this program is suitable for those individuals who hope to become researchers and who hope to become professionals with a high level of specialization.
Education That Embodies and Promotes Individual Task Consciousness
This program asks students to tackle research work independently. Why? Because education at this level should be geared towards the individual and their specific goals and should offer a sense of fulfillment and personal achievement that will give them a more confident starting point to practice law more efficiently and effectively. Our program aims to provide an education in which every student’s own interpretation and response to a problem is respected and encouraged.
Thorough Individual Guidance Customized to Support Each Student’s Needs and Goals
With our education in the doctoral program composed of Lecture, Practice, and Research Guidance, we understand the necessity of giving every student full and individualized support. Our team of lecturers and professors are always on hand to give specific and expert advice on any aspect of the curriculum and the students’ research.
