[Urgent Statement] STOP WAR

Based on the founding spirit of Asahi University, which is to “nurture human beings with a rich international and social outlook, and a spirit of harmony,” we, Asahi University, raise our voices to add to the chorus that call in unison to “STOP WAR!” in response to the recent invasion of Ukraine by Russia. We pray for a quick ceasefire and the safety of the citizens of Ukraine.
The faces of the frightened children hiding in shelters remind us that those that suffer the most are those who are the most innocent.
Let the founding spirit of our university be our guide in these unstable and difficult times. Together we must learn, reflect, discuss with empathy and mutual understanding, and of course, call for peace.
